Cant Contain Myself.
“Can’t Contain Myself” examines the concept of self-expression and the freedom that comes with it. There might be a lot of pressure to fit into stereotypes or expectations in the world of today. But “Can’t Contain Myself” is all about letting go of those restrictions and accepting who you really are.
My own experiences of feeling like I couldn’t completely express myself in particular circumstances inspired the idea for the piece. Have you ever felt the need to conceal aspects of yourself in order to fit in or be accepted? If so, perhaps you can relate. I know I have, and I wanted to make a work of art that will inspire others to embrace who they really are, no matter what.
The phrase “Can’t Contain Myself” refers to the idea of letting go of such restrictions and expressing yourself authentically. The dynamic combination of colors and shapes in the artwork itself is intended to evoke the energy and joy that come with self expression.
“Can’t Contain Myself” was the result of a period of inquiry and learning. I wanted to make something that would encourage others to celebrate their individuality and self assurance. It serves as a reminder that our diversity are beautiful and that we should never be ashamed to display our true selves.
